As we roll into February, the "season of love", we take a look at the sometimes unusual pairings of VIPER characters and decide which two characters make the best couple in the entire VIPER series.
Twenty-four of the most recognizable couples will compete in this year's tournament. And as with the Girl of the Year and Dude of the Year polls, all voting will be held exclusively here on the Congress of Awesome.
Notes:
* All polls will run for five days.
* The top four seeds in each division get automatic byes into the second round.
* In the event of a tie, each tied entrant advances to the next round. For the championship rounds, a three day runoff poll will be held instead, and will be repeated as needed until a victor emerges.
* Feel free to argue for (or against) certain characters, comment on your favorite matchups, which bracket is best (or worst), or rant about who got a lousy seed or matchup.

So now we've eliminated all the couples from stories that were actually romance-oriented, i.e. Northern Lights and M3. Leaving mostly oddball pairings that sprang out of rape and violence. I guess that's what Viper coupling is all about. I think Cala and Elan are the closest thing to a normal couple left, but maybe not my favorite. I woulda gone for Miki & Takesi or Mika & Oniichan, but so much for that.
These polls need more voters.

And that one person was me. Makoto is amazingly popular on this board though - recall that she barely finished second to Akira in last year's Girl of the Year poll.

Eh, the "Viper Girl of the year" polls used to be the most common, and obvious polls on these boards. Or were they just gender-inclusive character polls? Oh well.
I just didn't participate in this poll because I was away from the boards at the time. Shame about that, but not a big deal. I can't really say I have a favourite couple in the franchise anyway.

I hate to say it, but these polls need to be a bit more interesting. I'd like to see the best Viper rape be polled.

I was fine with just the girl of the year polls, but anything to liven up the forum. We need more people posting and voting!
