Viper V16: Rise is ready for download and play
(http://sognadigitalmuseum.com/images/photos/products/games/v16.jpg)
The zipped file contains two versions of the game in it. Both the original rise and the international version with translations, so yes, there is English in it!
download link via rapidshare:
http://rapidshare.com/files/332570863/Viper_V16.rar.html
megaupload link soon to come
Notes:
-unzip/unrar folders to wherever you want
-keep the files in the folders intact
-run the v16 apps from whichever version you prefer.
-available in multiple languages
enjoy!
I think Mr. JG00 has a walkthrough on the game on the digital museum site. Then again you shouldnt be too disappointed even if you get one of the game over scenes ;D

How do I play international version with translations?
-
I've tried to download that file from Rapidshare three nights in a row, and it just never moves, so I can't assist you without more information (file details, screenshots, etc.)
-
Make sure you are running the V16.EXE file in the \Viper V16\Viper V16 Rise (Multi Lang JAP ENG ITA GER ESP) folder.
There's a pulldown menu for the language options on the first screen:

I've taken the liberty of uploading the download to Mediafire as well (for those whose Rapidshare option wasn't working):

Mediafire took down the link.

Hey :) firstly thanks for posting this, you are very generous. unfortunately I think I'm doing something wrong, when I press play it says 'SGS.DAT not found' or sometimes 'SGS.EXE not found'
-
Do you not have all the files in the same folder? That's all I can think would explain that.
-
That's exactly the problem. You don't even really need V16.EXE as its just a bootstrap installer, but you absolutely must have SGS.EXE and SGS.DAT in the same folder to play (and preferably the MID files as well.) Of course, starting it from V16.EXE is a little easier; without it you have to start SGS.EXE from command-line or batch file with the Shinobu argument. (I.e. create a run.bat text file in the same folder, and have its contents be SGS.EXE Shinobu)
-
that's the thing, i extracted all those files and i do have both SGS.EXE and SGS.DAT in the same folder, so I don't understand why it says it can't find them
-
What OS? I don't know if anyone's tested it on Windows 8 Pro yet. (I know for certain VIPER games will not work on Windows 8 RT.)
Can you give some screenshots of whats going on?
-
I use Windows XP,
same problem with the original version
-
Try having a shorter directory path for the folder. Some programs incorporate it into the filename albeit with a character limit, so "SGS.DAT" may be cut off in whatever method the launcher is using to look for it. Not sure if that's actually the case, but it's worth a shot, and a path with that many folders named "New Folder" seems unnecessarily disorganized anyway.
-
Agreed. Older Windows apps have a limit of 260 characters for paths (including drive letter, folders, and file name.) Anything beyond this tends to cause problems.
If you move all the files up to a higher folder structure with a shorter overall path, it'll probably work.
-
Could someone please reupload Rise ? Couldn't find the english / multi language version anywhere. Thanks in advance!

I love you Tom Cruise (http://mir.cr/13DHRGEG)

And Tom Cruise loves you!

Saw Vanilla Sky a few months ago.
It was better than Inception.

Wow thanks yeah that worked great!

Just like to mention that I got a "please perform the installer of the CD-ROM" message when I tried to run the multilang version. For those who experienced the same problem, here's the solution I found: copy the start.bat from the original version to the multilang version and use it to start the game. The game will start in Japanese, but you can change the language from the drop down on the top menu (since the drop down menu on the title screen doesn't appear with this method).

My apologies if I should have made a new thread, but all three of the download links here are dead, it seems. I've looked and all I've found is a torrent of this on Nyaa from 2015 that is absolutely dead. I'm sure someone here has the game, if you could reupload it I'm sure it would be appreciated by many more people than just myself.

I should have specified, but I'm looking for the International Version, which is what OP claimed to have. I've already downloaded V16 from the drive link, but it's not translated as far as I can tell. ErogeDownload's version only has the Imagine route, it seems.
-
Moge, can you add to that Google Drive? I can supply disc images if needed - the other International versions, too. (Is img+cue the preferred format?)
These would be a little large to desire loading to my website for everyone to download and having games in a single drive is preferable to creating another.
-
Never bothered to get the international versions. I could just give you permission to upload to the Google Drive. If there's enough space left then i'll add the fan translated games.
-
Added International versions to Moge's original drive at https://drive.google.com/open?id=1KjpIhkVuvL88jtKJNeo_XWnLgDn_9_i_ (https://drive.google.com/open?id=1KjpIhkVuvL88jtKJNeo_XWnLgDn_9_i_)
VIPER Limited Edition (which was intended for international market only and doesn't have a Japanese-specific version) is also on this drive.
-
I moved all the international versions into the international folder.
Gonna look into adding the fan translated Viper games.
-
Thank you both very much. Would also be interested in fan-translated ones if you can get them. Guess I have an excuse to boot up the Windows 2000 machine again...
-
Most games will still play on Windows 10 (even 64-bit versions)
What doesn't work is movies in the Paradice/Lanjerie series (due to fundamental changes in how Windows Media Player operates) and the VIPER-STG mini game in Limited Edition (because Microsoft JVM is no longer available)
