There's a lot of people on this forum who lurk and never post, so here's a thread so the particularly shy or socially clumsy people (and everyone else) has an opportunity to introduce themselves! Even if we already know you, go ahead and post anyway! I'm sure there's plenty of people who don't know who the heck you are!
Here, I'll go first.

I like things like video games, pina coladas, and your mom. One time I got into a fight with Godzilla and gave him a black eye. Bitch came steppin' and got knocked all way back to fucking Tokyo.

I'm Hyperguy's roommate. I live about twenty paces from the webmaster's room. I pester him for Viper and other hentai stuff via our apartment's network, and play against him in Guilty Gear X2 a lot. I'm a dedicated Potemkin player, but I know a bit about the other characters too, so I guess that makes me the go-to guy on the forum for Guilty Gear? I dunno. Otherwise, I'm a cynical dude with lots of statues of hawt fictitious chicks on my desk.

Been enjoying the Viper games since 1998 (I have a thing for red heads in anime-style...) I'm a big fan of video games, but I can't compare to you guys with your fighters... o_O

I like red heads too. Barrel Roll roomate really isn't all that great at fighting games, he only wins 95% of the time I let him. Usually if I taunt in the match at all he gets an instant win. =D

Erm, lessee... I'm 17. My B-day just passed. July 2
I like Halo2, Yuri (girl from Dirty Pair Flash) hentai, boobs (duh), anime, manga, my friends, other stuff... (not in that order)
My school friends call me Bakunyuu-Baka-Sensei-Chan. Simply put, I have more than double of all my friends' anime/manga put together. ($780 collected in 2 1/2 years) I'll be the prezident of the AniManga Club next school year. I'm the teacher of Anime 101 during school time, and as far as I've seen, my friend Nancy is the ONLY one to rival me in knoledge of anime and manga titles. But, I think my title fits. Ya' think?

I am JG. Those are my initials, but I don't just give out what they stand for to just anybody.
During the day I'm a software programmer. I work too hard and have too much stress. But I have more money than any of you. Then again, you have youth. (Let's face it, I'm probably way too old to be into this stuff.)
I've liked the Viper games since coming across Viper-BTR back in the late 90s. I'm not really into anime or manga as much as h-games.
I've been teaching myself Japanese (even built myself my own Japanese translation database) for the past 8 or 9 months or so. Being able to understand what goes on in h-games and mangas makes a huge difference in the amount of enjoyment you can get from them. Just being able to understand what's going on in the Viper games has made me something of the authority on them around here. I'm currently working on putting that knowledge into a Sogna-related informational web site that should be ready to fly later this year.
Unlike everyone else around here, I despise fighting games. I'll tolerate V.G. though.
I'm also not that big on redheads. Give me a cute, petite blonde instead. Glasses are a plus. It's no secret that I am the world's biggest Karin-chan otaku.
I also resumed drawing last year, but don't do much of it. As much as I'm impressed by my output, I'd rather spend my free time doing other things to be honest.

Not much for talking in real life yet I'm somewhat of a chatterbox on the net. Go figure.
Got into hentai after a friend of mine showed me the V.G. OAV and I tracked down the games sometime after that.
Aside from those, I got a thing for game soundtracks and girls with glasses in hentai games.

Hello, all. My name is Daitanuki, and my balls require their own separate chair. And refreshments for that matter. They are quite jealous and will not be denied. Perhaps I'll start another profile jes' for them. I'd make one for each, but they don' mind sharing.
I came across Viper jes' a year ago, and I've been seriously crushing on Miki ever since; unfortunately, I've developed the sneaking suspicion that she may not actually exist. Sigh. As such, I may have to focus my attention entirely on Cala. She's real, right? However, any relationship would be hampered by my embarrassingly slow home internet connection that requires me to do some downloading on the down-low while at school.
I don't have much time for gaming, but I'm always ready to trash talk; I especially enjoy it when I have no skills to back it up (i.e. Guilty Gear). I am amateur artist, and am trying to find the time to pursue some Viper fanart. If/when I am successful, you'll be the first to know. I enjoy sushi, anime, and a smattering of manga now and again. I am currently learning Japanese, and I've got no love for the hoes. I'm a full time student, an underqualified and overpaid English tutor, and regretfully a part-time barista at a soul-crushing worldwide cafe chain whose name in Japanese rhymes with "sucksu."

History of me? Well in the times of Last Tuesday, I was a roommate of Hyperguy's. He introduced me to Viper and Sogna. It was totally awsome. Whenever you can motivate my lazy ass into it I can churn out some pretty nice 3D robot designs and what not. I'm an avid player of Megaman games and avid watcher of all things Go Nagai (he's a god in the world of Next Tuesday).

I'm a bit opposite, my CG sets are very organised but my doujinshi is all over the place lol. Theres only so much that can be done with random images tho.
One of the major reasons I like to extract my own images from the games is so i can interchange and swap backgrounds. A good example is with CTR, with some background swaping and simple editing i was able to combine both Asuka scenes into one long scene. I also used a pantie ripping scene from F-40, added a bed lining to the bottom and the guys bedroom wall behind it and it worked out beutifully. I'll see if i have it stored on this harddrive and put it up if i can find it. (or I can just remake it).
I used to be a rather hardcore gamer... Photoshop replaced that within a week. After i figured out Imageready I stopped leaving the house entirely lol. On occasion I also use Fireworks, but thats only when i get a broken gif that IR can't open, or when IR breaks a gif while saving it, i'll just resave it with Fireworks. I think i mentioned somewhere on here that I like to make AVI's from gifs also, I use Blaze Media Convert for that, hasn't don't too badly. I'm trying to learn to use Adobe Aftereffects, but i think that might be a bit too big for me to figure out on my own ><.

Heya... My name's Bo... I'm an amazingly nervous person who panics WAY too easily and takes stress very poorly. I don't show it so much online if I'm not in the middle of one of my panic attacks, in which case, contact me only if you want to cut the blue wire (it's always the RED wire, RED...).
I like video games a whole lot, and anime too. As you can expect from this, girls hate me. I try to not like them back but this gets very tricky, sometimes culminating in hellish grudges that cannot be dispelled through any means less than execution (theirs or mine). Get me going on this topic and I will bring SOMEBODY down with me. Guaranteed. But anime boobies, which I really like, are okay.
I draw but I'm kinda crappy at it, so I mostly stick to the video games. For some reason, I decided I wanted to be a teacher (I wonder if Rei, Tohko, Komon, Saori, or any of those others had anything to do with this?). I'm a lot more upbeat and happy around kids for some reason.
I also tend to completely disjunct topics.

Nevada, Nevada is based off of an internet legend known as "The Nevada Girl", who was a 9 year old Japanese Girl who killed a classmate over some negative comments about her over the internet, with a boxcutter. She became an internet legend because quite frankly, people are screwed up, naturally I had to write a song about it.

I was Bakunyuu Baka awhile back,so i'm glad to see familiar names like Zero Virus,Cole Tygar and Heirophant.
For those not familiar with me,i'm 30 (dad just retired,and we're losing the house in about 2 years or so,at which point i'll get a place of my own,possibly with a roomate).
I have had my share of surgerys,my most recent was to remove all my teeth at age 28(bad teeth is hereditary in my family),so i'm working with a set of dentures,but i try to stay in a positive state of mind about things.
I'm into anime and manga alot,and i do fan-fics and art(but i don't have a scanner).I also play many video games,and as my name implies,i buy quite a few import games as well. (The '13' is because 13 is my lucky number,and i'm a fan of Friday the 13th).On my 1up.com page('importgamer13'),I do blogs about video games,import games that i own,and other subjects,give 1up a look when you have time,it's a nice place.

I will give deference to JG since he was here first and he is right his zeroes do look nice. My zeroes came out of necessity when choosing an e-mail address years ago (about 10 now that I think about it) and I have stuck with them ever since. Secondly, I'd be content to drop the 00 here, but when I set up my account here on Congress of Awesome, we still had a rediculous minimum username length of either 3 or 4. The only reasonable minimum length is 1. If someone wants to be a single letter, a number, a kanji, or even some sexually ambiguous character, all the more power to them. Right now its 2, so maybe I can finally do something about that. I'll give it some thought.

Regdren has always been my online name. It's never been previously taken, nor have I met onyone else with it as a handle. For that reason, if by any chance you see that name on some other forum it's probably me.
I found this place because I heard it referred to a good Ragnarok Online server. It's a little convoluted but it's the truth. Video games are my main hobby and I'm going to be mostly on the D-Pad forum, even though it's not really the main focus of this site...not that I have a problem with it!

As all y'all can probably tell, I'm an R-type fan, and a fan of shooters in general. I am capricious, I buy games that I've never heard of because they look cool (on the cheap). I write many things that I tend not to finish, and I am also currently working on two tabletop wargames for an as yet to be determined reason.
I'm a big fan of roleplaying (games), and am particularly a fan of Mekton Zeta and the current incarnation of DnD. I like to know as many things as possible. I never like to not know something at all, as I feel as it shames me in front of may current group of peers. Fanservice is not, nor has it ever been beneath me, and my tastes in anime tend to run the whole spectrum of cuteness from Fist of the North Star all the way to Snow Fairy Sugar. I also play RO.

"Rep" tracks your reputation on the site. If you do something incredibly fucking awesome, users will respect you and increase your rep. If you do something shitfaced stupid, they'll taunt you and deduct a point from your reputation.
Honestly, it's a completely arbitrary number counter which may not always reflect the user's actual respect from members or accurately represent their awesome contributions to the site. It's just an extra little thing to display over there near your avatar.

Greetings! Brandon is the name, V.G is my game *Ocelot gun twirl*. I just found out recently that Hyperguy actually had a forum and a main website. See, I had the Gallery page bookmarked for years (I found it while looking for V.G memorabilia) but it didn't have a return address to the main site. I just thought the Gallery was made by some random good samaritan as-is. Had I known a forum existed, I'd have been on it like white on rice. All came to light when a kindly gent' named Pandaman posted a rather large torrent of Graf Zeppelin on 4chan of recent. I had all the goods in it already (Graf draws some seriously delicious Yuka!) save for one thing. I almost dropped dead of a heart attack when I saw the long cherished Variable Vipers within his collection. I spent ages trying to track down this son of a gun, I dug though everything. Winny, Share, Ebay, Yahoo Auction Japan, the works. I found nearly all things under the sun V.G related but not my Variable Vipers. I wish to pay tribute Dracula style to JG00 and Hyperguy for bestowing such a treasure on us miserable piles of secrets. *Contra ending* Congratulations! I got sick and tired of getting to the end of Actraiser and the game freezing so I decided to stick it to the man and just download the goddamn game via illegal and shifty means. Digging around for ROMS, one stood out from the rest: Super Virgin Girls. Naturally I grabbed that sucker and fired it up, only to be greeted by an intro worthy of the ages. Once I got a glimpse of Yuka and her giant tanks, I was sold. Lesbian undertones, Shoryuken rip-off, clothes getting ripped off supple body's, no men allowed, etc etc, the list just unrolls and travels along the floor. From there I started my crusade to gather all that was V.G with relentless abandon. I had discovered a handful of little V.G fan sites here, there, but not enough for my liking. It's a niche series so it would naturally only appeal to the old dude, vintage generation which is just fine. The new crew can have their Yoko and their C.C and the rest of the new heart-throb's of today's animation, but I'd take a girl-"steak" and a double order of fries from Yuka any day of the week. She can come for supper and stay for breakfast *hip thrust*.

I agree with your sentiments completely and got pumped up reading that. As much as we appreciate the old stuff it's also important to remember that popularity drives fan's creation of fansites, doujinshi, and the like. I've love it if more current artists would make more VG artwork, doujinshi, and games, but since the series probably reached its peak in popularity with the release of the OVA and a decline in popularity with the release of VG Neo, VG related stuff's pretty scarce. I guess that leaves it up to the American fans who are just now climbing over the language barrier to make VG stuff, unless Giga makes another VG game for its 15th anniversary or something.

They are. At the very least I put a byline on the credits page('Scanned by JG00') and we can CRC the files. Or we could rerelease them with a watermark, touchups, and that translation you were working on.
Basically...Pandaman e-mailed me asking about it, so I sent him a copy of it and thought nothing of it.

So I sent him an e-mail about it. I didn't reallly give it priority on my to do list since it wasn't in as high of a demand and probably would have tooken me even longer to set up a download for it.

I just recently downloaded Lightning Warrior Raidy (I should have opted to buy the CD instead of the download option but oh well, I did get to play the game much faster than those who purchased the CD, btw I preordered Lightning Warrior II, hopefully it will be out by this summer?...maybe that's not going to happen perhaps this fall)

To Hyperguy: I already beat the game, though I might play it again just to see if I can beat the game much faster than the first time around (and without dying once...lol) Btw, I agree with you when you say that "Tess is my favorite character after Raidy", too bad there's not a whole of pictures of her in this game. I think you will find the 4th and 5th floor to be extremely annoying (especially finding those darn maps for the floors)

I'm an artist who loves tentacle/monster rape, and that's the kind of rape that doesn't deal with submission. Yea... I hate submission actually. It's an automatic text replacement for the smiley face emoticon. Someone who was a huge Nanako fan was overusing it so Hyperguy set up a tongue-in-cheek macro to show how much it was being overused. It's been around for several years but its come back two or three times in the last week.

Hi, I'm also new to the boards! I've done a little bit of lurking here and there, just to get a feel of the place, and everyone seems really nice!
I'm from the UK, and I discovered Sogna about 3 years ago or so. I've bought a few collectables, and plan on increasing my artbook collection the moment I get a job.
In terms of faves, I'm a big fan of GTS, V16 and Paradise. As far as GTS is concerned, I much prefer the original\game versions of the characters to the OVA. Im just a bit gutted that Rati wasn't in the game somewhere....

I can understand arguments for and against old and new Carrera or old and new Ratty. But OVA Mercedes > game Mercedes, period. She's got personality and character development in the OVA, but is unbelievably dull in the game.

So, I enjoy drawing, traditional animation(going to school for animation), retro games from the 80's and 90's, and computers (have quite a few IBM machines running Windows or Linux and several Macintosh machines)
As quite a few people know, Im working on Animation for a new VIPER game which I hope to have completed by the end of this year.

I'm not sure those are actually real posters. If they were, they should be much larger (over a meter tall)
I suspect those are actually chirashi - smaller, usually double-sided flyers given out in stores to promote new products. I have several of them myself (see in-store flyers about half way down the page) (http://www.sognadigitalmuseum.com/gallery/collections/jg/index.html), but neither of those two. I've never even seen the one on the left, it may be rare. The F40 one I've seen before.

I'm not that into Viper series. I used to play some in the '90s. The one I remember is the Jason (Friday 13th) story. It was Viper 8 or something, I don't really remember. A week ago I got the Viper anime, it's story about Carrera. That's part of my nostalgia, I'm searching old H games & anime :)

How did I find myself here? Well I'm 30 yrs old, and a long time anime fan since the late 80's. My first anime true love was Ranma 1/2, and since most of you are Sogna afficionados, you can probably guess why I'm on this forum because of that fact! ;D
I took a long break from anime for nearly 10 yrs, around 2003 ish, when anime was no longer exciting me as much. And well life happened. About 2011 I started slowing getting back into it, and started going through 80's and 90's series I had missed. I don't really care for new anime all that much, but will watch something from time to time.
Anywho, I'm a freelance artist, who draws in the anime style. I am heavily influenced by anime pre-2000's, and 80's cartoons. Since Ranma 1/2 is my favorite anime, and I love the very specific style of the 80's-90's, I look up artists and buy plenty of manga and artbooks from these eras. Now that I'm older I can actually look at and appreciate even hentai series, as most of my favorite artists got many of their starts from doing hentai and adult work. While looking up Atsuko Nakajima, I came across many of the Sogna series titles, after researching Jewel BEM Hunter Lime, and well, the rest is history. I run a tumblr blog for anime and Japanese culture, posting many artworks I find interesting or talking about anime in general. Especially the artists, which it seems Sogna fans have a great love for, and figured this would be a nice forum to be apart of. I joined another forum for older anime fans, Anime Past, as well, since I love having discussions about the pre-Naruto days of anime.

Haha we have a discussion about Ai Tenchi Muyo going on right now. I also did some art comparisons on my tumblr about it. I'm in the camp that dislikes it though, mainly because of the new designs and addition of what looks like some pretty terrible new girls.

I didn't really give up so much as just had life happen and didn't really devote much time to it. I was a hardcore freelance artist so it took up a lot of my time. I just came back into it because I've been missing it and it's actually been helping me be a better artist while I really dialed back on freelancing. I need to watch the new Slayers, but I did catch the original Hellsing anime. I really enjoyed it. I agree on GXP (I couldn't even watch past the first episode). Original Tenchi OAV will always be my favorite, but I loved Universe just as much because I thought Kiyone, Naga, and Ken-Ohki were awesome additions to the series. I don't even really care for Kajishima's canon he's been doing in doujinshi form.

Sogna focused on reproducing animation in video games (an ambitious, novel concept at the time) since most of them were animators before, while Silence kept the old-style non-animated game format.
We can talk about Silence here too though. I have a couple of Lime things in my non-Sogna collection.

Darn, I knew there was something fishy about it. If there was a V3 for FM-TOWNS, then there must be an X, too, which would make two games I'd never seen before.

The FM-Towns had some of the best versions of old LucasArts adventure games.

I was about your age when i registered here. Its cool to see the youth of tomorrow have a keen interest in the hentai classics.
Viper art was just about everywhere on the internet in its earliest days. Couldn't go to any adult site without seeing it (usually on ads). Kinda weird that whoever holds the license hasn't made any attempts to revive the series.

If I can recall, Most of em were featuring Akira. Oddly I remember saving a handful of Viper gifs and pics on a floppy back then. I still cant find that thing.

This particular loop was E V E R Y W H E R E circa 1999-2000. It worked well for vertical ads, along with other parts of V16.
Another little gif banner featuring Carrera's come-hither finger and the deeply witty marketing call of "CUM INSIDE" is, I believe, what led me to learn of the term "cum". When I was, uhhh, a fully of-age adult, of course. Which I definitely was at the time. I'm, uhhh, 65!!

I've got these that are resized versions of the ones we had at hyperguy.net and/or congressofawesome.net (the precursors to the SDM forum) used in the early days of sognadigitalmuseum.com before the forum moved here. Obviously unofficial - I don't recall Sogna ever having official ad imagery. Most of their ads were print in the form of chirashi flyers. What Moge meant is that it showed up on adult pay-site ads, without permission. Even still, I occasionally see VIPER animations on such ads.
Few of our CoA ads were VIPER-related, but good memories for those of around a long time. We obviously had a lot more (including the vertically scrolling Carrera and Akira ads), but I don't seem to have kept any of them. Nor have I kept some of the more popular ones that were a bit "questionably insensitive" like "Don't Rape the Maid" (which is actually good advice) or the not-quite-what-it-sounds-like "He gave me crabs!" If any of you guys can dig those up from archives or internet time machine and post here, you'll get a thumbs up.
